I Needed This

Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent. ~Eleanor Roosevelt

It's me who is my enemy
Me who beats me up
Me who makes the monsters
Me who strips my confidence.
~Paula Cole, "Me,"
This Fire

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

I Want

I want to try my hands at photography. Pictures speaks a thousand words, and portrays beauty one could not imagine if not for a brilliant person with an eye for unseen images.

I want to reaffirm my one-time passion for flute. This time I'll make sure I can blow the perfect pitch.

I want to learn new languages--the art of communications, which can take me to places, overcome cultural difference and gain inspirations.

I want to write and publish short stories and produce my own songs. I want to inspire.

Shoe

I am going to start blogging about my new interest--fashion. I think I must be running out of topics to blog. Anyway, I am having a deadening headache now. Fashion is a hard subject for a total beginner like me. But I am persisting even if it kills me.

Let's start with shoes.
A shoe is an item of footwear evolved at first to protect the humanfoot and later, additionally, as an item of decoration in itself.
As defined by Wikipedia.

I will start with athletic shoes which half the population of the world would at least have a pair. The emphasis of these particular type of shoes tends to be more on function than style. However, nowadays, functions and style goes hand in hand, with the many stylish and cool sneakers around. And people like me who is not into sports just get them for show. Now, athletic shoes are then divided into many other categories, depending on the kind of sport one plays, from running shoes to ski boots to wrestling shoes. I did my research, so there.

The most popular athletic shoes brands are all out there. Adidas, Rip Curl, Nike, Converse, Fila and one hundred and twenty-three thousand others. There are also lots of cheap and stylish sport shoes around in the market now. Sneakers are considered one of the most popular footwear for teenagers nowadays, girls and guys alike.
The versatile and timeless sneakers.

I will end my presentation here. Thank you. I have a lot yet to learn.

I am lovin' it

OK. So I didn't get any scholarship. So all the effort I spent in the application processes had been in vain.

So what?

God will make a way. I trust in His promises. Though these times are few and far in between. I am sorry for the lack of faith, God.

School

I don't really have any interesting subjects to write about. I got a problem. I can't blog in originality. Every time I face a blank template, I am at a loss. Maybe blogging is just not my thing.

Don't get me wrong. I love writing. On any blank sheet of paper, I flow all my thoughts over it, writing with a pen. The natural way. The old-fashioned way.

I am trying to write poems now. In the past, I mostly wrote song lyrics. One teacher once said that it's my way of getting my idea across to others. My form of expression. That is so true. Anyway, I find it harder to compose poems than song lyrics. I know it is almost similar, but somehow I can't get the serious tone of the poem right.

Yesterday, our MUET teacher got us all to introduce ourselves in a get-to-know-the-students session. And without thinking, I blurted out that I like writing. Well, the teacher obviously was quite pleased that she has this one of a kind student, a rare species in her class. Okay. So, I am now officially considered one of the most hardworking nerd in class. I think.

I am proud of my newfound status. Believe it or not.

The 3Ls

Live.

Laugh.

Love.

I might not have done enough of these.

Back To School

So, I started form 6.

It's baffling..after months and months of yet to decide what I wanna do, worrying my head out, I ended up in the most conventional, straightforward, and uncomplicated study pathway.

At least, it's what I think. But there's still decisions to be made. Which I hate.

So what's there to tell about school? It's the first time I'm studying in a boy's school. (think immature kids running around). The first week was orientation week. It was okay I guess. There were lots of talks, announcements, getting-to-know sessions. On Friday, we had ice-breaking sessions and played some games which had moral values. And then that Saturday we had gotong-royong. Although I would so much rather sleep in on a Saturday, but the conscientious part of me prevailed and I went. To labour in my new school. I am a teacher's ideal student. Not.

So, anyway..I am still torn between a few other options. But I'll leave it at there. No point worrying.

What I'd Been Doing Today

I am proud to present my *drum roll please* painstakingly done artwork using ScribbleToo! As below:

I spent 1 hour plus drawing with a mouse, the computer one, mind you, and another half hour uploading it.

You can thank me for my effort. Which is the reason I'm damn tired now.
